photo album, LE MANS bombing, 1944.

This photo album also contains a large number of various paper documents from the period 1938/45 including a document from the TODT organization with its stamp, but also after the war.

The photos in this album were taken by Mr CHASTEING LOUIS, born in 1908 and SNCF (French national railway company) agent in the city of Le Mans.
This man was also a resistance fighter who belonged to the FFC (French fighting forces) then to the FFI (French forces of the interior). Several documents present in this album attest to this.

The FFI armband for this resistance fighter is also for sale on the site.

The photos retrace the US bombings on the train station in the city of Le Mans until the liberation. some photos show destroyed armored vehicles, others have explanatory annotations.
