1916 ADRIAN HELMET OFFICER

ADRIAN helmet model 1916 with its officer's chinstrap.

This helmet was found, with another, recently while clearing out a premises in the town of Montauban (82 Tarn et Garonne, France). He slept there for several decades.

This is an Adrian helmet model 1916, repainted in matte black as was done at the time because the horizon blue was too visible and shiny.

When I got this helmet, the officer's chin strap only fit on one side. Shortly after, while handling it to dust it, the small leather fastener that remained attached to the helmet broke. This is indeed the original officer's chin strap for this helmet.

Shell only without liner, all the aluminum wafers and staples are present.
